Week 10′s match-up of the week will focus on Team XCLUSIVE and Team Juan G’s game. Team Juan G is attempting to regain ground after a 2-5 start to the year, this is his second year in the league – last year he was the third place finisher. Team XCLUSIVE is currently on a four game winning streak and he hopes to keep the fire going a 1-4 start is no way to begin your first year in the league, but a series of trades that landed him QB Tom Brady changed his fortune. Team Juan G is the projected winner, 124.2 to 119, his team is looking at some favorable match-ups this weekend. QB Jared Goff vs Seattle, dual threat RB Christian McCaffrey vs Pittsburgh, WR Davante Adams vs Miami, and WR Juju Smith-Schuster vs Carolina are all match-ups that could are projected to produce at least 15 points, all tough measure for Team XCLUSIVE to match.
Team XCLUSIVE made some interesting lineup moves this week. For starters, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick gets the start over QB Tom Brady, and the Cowboys’ newest addition, WR Amari Cooper, finds himself on the bench as well. Outside of Fitzpatrick and RB Alvin Kamara, Team XCLUSIVE’s roster has three players projected above 10 points, one of which is his D/ST.
Entering my third week with Patrick Mahomes, I have my third straight favorable match-up. Across the fantasy football app from me is AGGhanistan GOATS, whose 3-6 record is second to last in the C3rtifi3d Division and 15th in the current league wide standings. A loser of four out of his last five games, AGGhanistan GOATS has one player on his roster ranked in the top 8 of their positional rank (WR Emmanuel Sanders, 7th ranked WR). Due to weeks of inactivity and not checking his lineup, early projections have me winning by 80.6 points, 118.7 to 38.1.
I have reason to panic though. if he comes and sets his lineup before game time on Sunday his team’s projection will rise into the upper eighties/low nineties and that will be a hard surge to fight off. This week is my lowest projected total in five weeks and this is likely because I have to stream my two WR options. Deandre Hopkins (22.7 PPW) is on his bye week and AJ Green (19.9 PPW) is out for at least two weeks with a toe injury, so I made waiver claims for Arizona’s rookie Christian Kirk (11 PPW) and LAC’s deep threat Tyrell Williams (13.3 PPW). 42.6 points to 24.3 points is a huge drop in production from my top ranked wide receiver core, but with RB Joe Mixon back from his bye our team can lean on him and Kareem Hunt to produce big numbers.
Playoff races are picking up the intensity with four weeks left in the regular season. There are currently five teams with 5-4 records and all but two of those five are projected to win this week, furthering the confusion of predicting a final playoff bracket. Team Juan G, who is featured in the spotlight game, is a very dangerous 4-5 team to watch. The top four teams in the standings (Lol Lmao, Yes Papi, Uhhh DEXTER, and Team Holmes) are not in the clear either, although Lol Lmao has extra breathing room with only two losses.
Yes Papi and Team Holmes are both projected to drop down into the four loss ranks this week; Yes Papi’s opponent happens to be a four loss team, Team Mill. Last week Yes Papi’s lost was because of Andrew Luck and Saquon Barkley’s bye weeks, this week it will likely be due to WR Adam Thielen and Demaryius Thomas’ bye weeks.
Team Holmes is going through some things this season, after an amazing 4-0 start to his championship defense he has dropped three out of the last four. Two of those three losses were to under .500 teams, his opponent, VicTh3 Show, is another under .500 team (3-6) that is projected to walk away with the win in a close game, 105.5 to 103.6. Holmes’ thin roster is clearly to blame for his recent struggles, he depends on big games from QB Carson Wentz and TE Travis Kelce, he really has no other players with big game ability, except for RB Leonard Fournette who is coming off a knee injury.
